[ He settles himself on the back of her motorcycle. ]

Do you promise to tell me when you're reaching your limits then?

[ She slides onto the front and casts a glance back over at him, ready to kick off and go as soon as she gets an answer. ]

... Er. Well. We'll see.

[ That's a no. ]

[ She knows enough Milese to get that and lets out a light snort. ]

Then enjoy the occasional nagging.

[ It's the last thing she says before she's taking off towards their destination, at a slower pace than usual. The Soviets are still about and she's not going to give a bored one an excuse to pull them over because they're stepping out for a late night breakfast. Still, the restaurant is close and it only takes them a handful of minutes to arrive. ]

Fair enough.

[ He tries not to hold on too tightly, but he can't help but enjoy being on the back of a motorbike with her again ... It's still terribly exhilarating, after all. ]

[ Whatever hold he's got on her, she's not going to comment as long as he doesn't fall off the back. As promised, she sends him a live feed of a visual from the front and it isn't until they're pulling into the restaurant that she ends it. ]

[ He really, genuinely did. In fact he's kind of breathless towards the end. ]

[ She smirks as she leads the way inside. ]

[ He follows then, hauling himself up into the booth to sit. ]

It's quite good. Not as impressive as yours, maybe, but ... Tadashi Hamada does good work.

[ She slides into the seat across from him and sighs. Not for the first time, she wishes that kid was on their payroll. ]

I have a feeling I'll end up going to him if I ever need any repairs I can't do myself. It's too bad you can't pry him from his current job.

I know ... there's no competing with Stark, though. Alas.

Do you know how much they pay their techs?

[dendarii]

No idea, but it must be substantial.

[failureisntachoice]

You might want to pry it out of one of his employees if you're going to offer comparable salaries to future techies that show up here. Or you'll risk them getting snatched out from under you.

... An excellent point. I hadn't thought of it that way.

You're lucky I haven't inquired about what they pay their security. [ It's a mild comment strategically placed right before their waiter approaches them to take their orders. Just to give him an etra minute to contemplate that while she orders coffee and food. ]

[ Miles winces instantly, trying to hide the gesture by turning it into a shrug.. ]

If you find out, tell us. We'll more than match his pay.

[failureisntachoice]

[ She raises a brow at that and taps a finger idly on the table, as if considering. ] You'll match it?

[dendarii]

[ This is a dangerous conversation, isn't it. ]

Of course. We want you to stay with us.

[failureisntachoice]

[ Anything involving money turns dangerous with her. ]

I was starting to wonder if your gig came with loyalty raises.

[dendarii]

... We could work something out, I'm sure. But Gregor handles that.

[ Miles is bad at not bowing to that kind of pressure. ]

[ She stares at Miles a moment before shrugging. Gregor would be harder to get to throw random raises out. ]

I'll have to wait until he comes back then. I have a feeling there'll be a bonus anyway after tonight.

[dendarii]

... Most likely, yes.

[ A soft sigh. ]

[ She waves the gratitude off. ]

Part of the job. Even if it wasn't, I'd want to be there. I'm not a fan of sitting around on my hands.
